Mumbai ! The city of dream for starving Indians |Bollywood | India
It was a curious trip for me though I had to manage my free time to discover Mumbai, besides my official training for 20.03.2017 to 22.03.2017. Mumbai is known as Bombay until 1995 officially, by the way, Bollywood named from Bombay. It’s full of slums, high-rise, milliners, artists, street food, busiest people, etc.
I was surprised by the huge population balancing their life between the slums and the high-rise buildings. Most of the Indian people wish to have an opportunity to work in Mumbai, even it’s a very costly city in India. It’s not a tourist and attractive place for a new visitor but if you are curious to discover the heart of the commercial city, you can be surprised by the socio-economic activities of people and kind of modern hybrid society beside the conservative people. It’s famous for the chaotic and busy streets for people bargaining and watching the bazaar (market). Throughout the city, you can discover so many colonial and post-independent architectures such as ‘Chatrapati Sivaji Terminus’, ‘Gateway of India’, Tajmahal Palace Hotel’, ‘Haji Ali Dargah’, beautiful ‘Bandra-Worli Sea link’ bridge, etc. The popular waterside destination is ‘Marine drive” where citizens come to walking in the morning and visitors like to watch the sunset over the Arabian Sea and the carnival-like ‘Juhu beach’.
One of the most important architectures of Mumbai is Chatrapati Shivaji Terminal, which damaged me a lot. I didn’t expect that such a historical building handed over a railway station. It could be an attractive museum or an important tourist spot.

Its really remarkable moment for my life. I can surely recommend you to visit ‘marine drive at night, you must feel amazing night view of Mumbai city and also loveliness of Arabian Sea with blinking boat light as a scary movie.

Last day afternoon we (me & Rajottom) joined with another client Munish Arora. Munish is one of our clients, who were working to develop GIS software to implement on the telecom network. We made an instant plan to visit Gateway of India, Taj Hotel & Juhu beach after our training.

We took the train to go to Gateway of India and the Taj hotel. I was worried about Mumbai local train journey due to crowd ness but after my experience, I found that people are very helpful and systematic to travel by train, they won’t make anyone worse. I didn’t see so many public buses on the road and I felt amazing that how a big city control their traffic flow based on millions of private car and black-yellow taxi. We hired a taxi to roam around the city though it was too much traffic always throughout the visiting Gateway of India to Juhu Beach.

After all, I must give a small description about the hotel Taj as it is a famous hotel in Mumbai for so many reasons such as it’s a historical hotel, geographical location also important while it’s the location in front of Arabian sea and as it’s located front of Gateway of India monument, which is one of the attractive tourist spots in Mumbai.
Another most important reason behind its popularity is that it had been attacked by 12 coordinated terrorists in 2008, known as 26/11, and made a historical killing of around 174 people including 9 attackers and almost 300 people wounded with that incident. Which incident made huge effects on South-Asian politics, mostly India-Pakistan relationship for a few years.

After all discredits it’s India’s most populated commercial city, which has a big character to engage a huge volume of people for their work in different kinds of sectors. This pressuring the city expanding horizontally and vertically day by day as an example I observed a lot of high rise new constructions around the city.
